Household Dangers For Cats To Avoid

 

• Christmas tinsel, metallic confetti, plastic ‘grass’ used for easter baskets and gift wrapping can all be ingested by cats and can block their intestines or rip up their stomach.

• Rubber bands, pins, needles, safety pins, thread and string are also dangerous if they swallow them.

• Most pre-prepared human food contains onions for flavoring, onions are toxic to cats.

• Xylitol gum is toxic to cats

• Grapes are toxic to cats

• Many common household plants such as lilies, African violets, poinsetta, geraniums, ferns and philodendrons are toxic to cats.

• Lysol and Pine Sol and any other compounds containing PHENOLS can kill cats or hurt their liver function if they walk in the fluid, wash it off their paws or even breathe in the fumes.

• Any paint, paint remover, floor polish or other oil or alcohol based products can also be toxic to cats.
